Don't know what happened to the real photo of a guy sticking his head over a row boat bow looking for fish. Sorry about the adobe link.

I actually tried that at Banks Lake a few years ago when I started getting frustrated after my depthfinder died.

I have never stuck my head in looking for fish.  However, I have donned the dive mask and retrieved a few of my expensive (or lucky), lures a few times from snags.

Years ago a friend of mine in Hawaii and his in-laws used to don face masks and hunt crayfish in the local streams with miniature spear guns that they made. The weapons looked kind of like very tiny crossbows. He said it was great fun, because the action was right in front of one's face. He was married to a Hawaiian woman at the time, and I think it was her relatives who developed the technique.  :banjo:
