I think I'll give it a shot tomorrow. The debate is whether to try to hit the early high tide (5:00 am). Or the evening bite (7:00 pm). I don't have a radio, but I'll be fishing just past the coast guard ships along the face closest to Safeco and Quest Field...

If it's early, it'll be best REAL early! See you there!

Well made it out there at 5:30AM and was greeted by a lot of boats on the water. Since It's is pretty much the only place on the Sound to get a Chinook now I gave it a shot. I trolled along the 100 ft. line and dodged boats. Got a few solid takedowns that rang my drag a bit but nothing stuck. All in all I saw 3 people around me boat 5-10 lb. Chinooks. While the catching potential is there @ Ebay I was a bit dissapointed w/ the noise, fumes, and having to watch out for people so much. After about 3 hours I pretty much had it. To me yak fishing is about the fishing but there's a good bit of it that is all about paddling and enjoying being on the water. The Seattle waterfront sure was pretty though!

Went out for three hours this evening for high tide. No luck, but did see several other fish caught. Was fishing 35-65 feet deep using a army truck coyote spoon....

It definitely is an "urban" fishing experience. I've been pretty much fishing along the East side of the bay between the East Duwamish waterway... in front of Safeco and Qwest field and before the ferry terminals. I've been getting a little frustrated watching fish get caught in front of me, but there I did get lucky that once.

I caught that big one about 70 feet. Last night I saw two people catch two real quick right as it was getting dark... they told me they were at 60 feet.

From your picture Zeelander, it looks like you were over on the far side of the bay. I really do like that Jack Perry launch, and it has always been very lonely there. So there is a little bit of a break from the madness. Easy to launch there especially at high tides. Low tides you have to walk over some rip rap but it isn't too bad.

If it is calm water, you could try out by the Duwamish Head. I have seen nice fish caught there while in a bigger boat.
