Anyone have any thoughts or comments on Emotion Kayaks for fishing? Particualarly the Mojo Angler or the Grand Slam Angler?
Just wondering also if anyone up here has any experience with either on the ocean or big water?

The ones around here are usually budget-oriented SINKs.  Next Adventure seems to sell a lot of them.  They are apparently a good value for the money, and Outside magazine gave them a gear of the year award.......

I haven't had the chance to see one in person yet, but they look decent.  Look at the Pelican, Shakespeare, and Emotion SOT's and compare them...  You might be able to save some cash getting one of the other ones if those are the features you want.  I'd swear they're made by the same vendor.  The downside of them all being the same is the material used in their construction doesn't seem very durable from my hands-on with the Pelican I saw at Sports Authority a couple weeks ago. ::)

There is a Emotion Mojo Angler SOT for $600.00 on Medford Or. CL. Says it is brand new never been in the water. Says he was layed off needs the money. Been on CL for a couple of months. Might get it for less. Don't know what the shipping would be to Idaho. ???

budget oriented = corners cut

If you want it for big water it may get you out there, but it may or may not handle as well, be as stable, dry, or comfortable as other brands.

Yup. What he said.

I don't have any personal experience with them, but they are hot down here.
Here's a link to a short discussion of the Emotion Grand Slam. Put "Emotion" in the search function on that site and you'll get more opinions than you ever wanted.

I agree, I use an Emotion Angler (older model) and it's a great craft.  I read about the Mojo, and it is specifically developed to target customers looking for a first kayak.  It is probably the best of the entry models in design, but the savings may = shavings.
The Grand Slam is my wish list yak and hopefully will be my new platform by Emotion soon.

We will be using 2 Emotion Grand Slams while down in Florida for 5 days.  I'll be able to give you a ton of info in 2 weeks.  But like The Nothing said there are a bunch of my buddies in Florida who are sponsored by Emotion they are popular down there.
