just wandered in there this morning after seeing my Doc for an infected finger, and BpSCo is in the early stages of their summer sale.

lots of sit insides from Wilderness and Necky reduced by 2-300 $$, lots of gear and dry suits on sale [ try a large mango colored Kokotat for under $500] + farmer janes on sale too.. fact is, in that half the store, more womens stuff than mens reduced in price,

sale ends July 31st.

OK, went back there today looking for charts. Ended up looking at a WS Tempest 165 Pro [ 170 Pro?] that is now reduced to $2250( its a $3500 boat) and the price is dropping further very soon.

Bad news for the Tacoma area. This isnt a "summer sale" !! It's a "CLOSING THE DOORS SALE" !! that explains why it was busier today than any other time i've been there. young guy who helped me with some information told me all the boats, paddle gear, accessories, camping gear, clothing, that they can sell is going out the door by the end of July, Anything left over goes to their Berkely CA and Bellingham [or was it Bellevue?]WA stores.

seems they've just not had the volume needed to keep things running. So if you;re looking for last minute close outs, might want to head over there now.

That location is terrible.  Not sure how long it's been there (I know it's been there since at least 1998), but that area has been bad for at least 15 years.

Must be Bellevue.  Marmot Mountain Works stores are/were affiliated with BPS and they are in Bellevue and Berkeley.

Must be Bellevue.  There's never been a Backpacker's Supply in Bellingham.  Even the REI is kinda dinky.  It's amazing that a town the size of Bellingham, with such close proximity to the San Juans, has no kayaking store.  I'm waiting for someone to try it again.  I'll support whomever takes that leap.
