Those flashers are great.  They have no noticeable drag and come pre-rigged with bead chain swivels on BOTH sides of the flasher.  Add a good lock swivel the the tail and and you're set.

I agree these are great flashers. My only problem with them is keeping the dropper line from wrapping around the flasher and tying everything up. When this doesn't happen, it works like a charm. Unfortunately, I've had more tangles than not.

Jay, that happens when you're bouncing your lead along the bottom.  Try taking up 2 or 3 cranks of line immediately after your dropper weight hits bottom.  If that doesn't work, add 10 to 14 inches of line between your snap swivel and the flasher.

I'd be more than happy to.  I'll be in Astoria the evening before the tournament.  If enough people want to get together for it, I can help you guys get rigged and show you the fundamentals.

Lee, can send your girlfriend (and her friends) down to Astoria while you're out of town that weekend?  >:D

Insayn, DTS, Yarjammer?

I recall you guys mentioning that your wives might be willing to help out after the Rockfish Derby.....   :-*

-Spot-

Sorry, I wasn't planning to attend this outing, I have to work that day.  :homework:
Wife should be available for next year's Rockfish Derby, though.

It's almost game day and time to hand out some duties.  We don't need a ton of help to make this work but we could use at least 2 or 3 bodies out there.

I could use the following:

1 or 2 people at the Rowing dock by 6:50AM to hand out and collect release forms from late showing contestants.  This duty should be done by 10:00AM.

1 or 2 people at the Rowing dock by 10:00AM to help with the weigh ins and pics.  This duty should be done by noon or so (this gives Zee a chance to fish for a couple of hours)

1 or 2 people to show up at Pier 39 by 10:00AM to update the public scorecard with weigh in results (passed along via cell phone from the docks).  This duty will be done by 2:00PM.

Any takers?
