I don't have any experience in the area, but if you have a beach cart, I would suggest launching at the south jetty and working that for possible rockfish, greenling, or lingcod. Heceta Head Lighthouse is a place I have always wanted to try from a kayak, but it is a little far from me. After stopping by that place on a roadie and watching the beach for an hour or so, it looks doable depending on surf conditions. It looks like there would be good rockfish habitat there. I haven't checked the regs though to see if that place has been fenced off as an MPA or whatever. That area would also require a cart of some sort as the parking lot is a short walk from where you would want to launch through the surf. I know there are plenty of lakes in the Florence area to work. I think Goldendog is in that area, hopefully he will chime in here and give some better local input. Good luck!

Thanks for the input.. I know my daughters dad fishes the lake around there and he knows a few good spots as a last resort but since I'm on the coast I thought I would try the salt..looking to try out the new prowler. I usually paddle my tarpon 140 but picked up the prowler for 500 so I couldn't pass it up. Now to just get it wet..

Probably gonna launch at Sunset tomorrow or Sunday(Sunday looks better), probably be a little swell, but i need to get out and fish. Most likely be Sunday as i want to hit Rocky Point tomorrow and try for something silver, and large, and tastes good smoked... ;)
