I've been on a weird run of catching one fish...

Yesterday i fished the Coquille river for Perch and Salmon(it's way early). I caught one pink fin perch and couldn't buy another one the rest of the 1 1/2 hours i fished for 'em. No love on the Salmon, only heard of one caught.

Today i went to Sunset on a mission to catch my first surf perch ever from my Yak. Caught the one 11.25 incher on the first drop, then nothing, for another hour and a half.

Pedaled down to Norton Gulch and it was rough as...Caught one little greenling, lasted about a half an hour and went home...

*Did climb up the ladder a bit on the AOTY*

Hey... better than nada. Usalyy our MO. My son and are heading up to Bandon/CoosBay area. We crabbed out of Charleston last time around the 4th of July. You think any salmon will be in the bay by Labor Day in September. Its my only shot due to work schedule. Does crabbing get better or worse that time of year?

Notice the different immersion gear for the river compared to the ocean, something about the Ocean makes you want to wear stuff.

You came down to Bandon and did not call me Roy?? I heard reports of six or more salmon caught on the lower part of the river. The salmon are coming in with the high tide then going back out.?! Rocky point and lower. Call if you go again.

Hold that thought. Unfortunatly i didn't read the rules properly and the Pink Fin is not a panfish, i guess it would be a Surf Perch? not sure really...Oh well, easy come easy go.

Any idea on where I can purchase the fish ruler in the pic. Looks like it has a tough so the fish does not slip around. Thank you

Those are standard issue Hawg trough's . Cabela's has 'em as does most other fishing gear sites...
