WHOAH,,, easy now. A little too visual for me. Glad i got the kayak before i saw that pic. I used to surf a lot in so cal and every once in a while as my feet hang over the board i would get visuals. So... the pic is fake... it is not real...not real... that is my mantra for the next few days. Part of what we do for adventure is being careful and cautious but trying NOT to think about what might happen. shiver shiver

Sorry I had to take down ronbo's pic. When this becomes a forum about gore it'll be the right place to be. For now,  if anyone wants to see it PM him.

Thanks!  I don't need pics of that nature bouncing around my head when I'm 3 miles offshore any more than I didn't need to read the "when bears attack" book a week before I went on a ten day PCT hike.

I was at Fort Ross on Tuesday, and heard the story from a NCKA member called Piscopalian, or something like that. Later, I told my friend that lives in Arcata about it(Onokai), and he described in detail how GW's attack, coming up from the bottom so fast you visually can't see them. He was on a GW cage dive with 5 other guys, and none of them could see the sharks on the bottom in perfect visability. They blend in until they decide to attack on the surface. By then, it's too late!
