Launched at 0700 flat surf no problems for the first time launching.
I was a bit nerves being alone for the first time....so I played it safe. :P
I paddled out 3/4 off the north jetty I did find some structure a wreck . Got some hits but no takers!!
I should have ventured out further...oh well next time now that I have more confidence.  ;D
My surf landing went perfect...it should have being so flat and all.
All in all... a great day on the water and a great day to learn!!

Chuck

IMO Cape D is such a PITA.  I'm surprised so many of you guys have been out there lately.  You an I are gonna have to hook up some time!

Right on SD. Surf launching/landing is definitely a tough thing to learn but once you understand the pattern of the ocean it gets easier. But every now and then all of us get our butts handed to us by the ocean. She always lets us know who's boss.

Sounds like a good time fish or not. Always nice to get a little confidence boost by doing something potentially tough all by your lonesome.

Pain In The A _ _

The place does make me wish for fatter tires on my cart, but I don't think it's all that bad.  Maybe I'm just used to trying to launch from stupid places   ???

Isaac are you referring to getting your yak to and from the beach, or the fishing?  Curious to know why you don't like it.

Thanks for the report Chuck.  Would like to hit that area soon myself - not this weekend but maybe later.

Pain In The A**

I think you are just defining PITA...  but is it really?

The launch isn't bad at all.  I am still interested to hear why Isaac doesn't like CD!  I would consider going this weekend if I wasn't already going to Alaska.  Chuck, hit up the area between the end of the east jetty and the green bouy with your Gulp grubs when the current isn't running too fast.  The two times I've been there I hauled very large blacks out of there.  Good luck!

I think that area is sweet! I've always launched from Waikiki beach. It is a PITA for carrying if you are by yourself, but it could be worse.
