The launch isn't bad at all.  I am still interested to hear why Isaac doesn't like CD!  I would consider going this weekend if I wasn't already going to Alaska.  Chuck, hit up the area between the end of the east jetty and the green bouy with your Gulp grubs when the current isn't running too fast.  The two times I've been there I hauled very large blacks out of there.  Good luck!

Thanks I'll give it a try!! ;D

I'm thinking of going to give it another try at Cape D this Sat, Sun or Mon...Want to get my first rock fish, ling or cab in a bad way!!
Anyone else up for it??
Come on the launch is not that bad...

Chuck

I am 50% 75%! in at this point - would be more committal if it wasn't a holiday weekend.

Anybody use shrimp flies much?  I've had some luck jigging for rocks but I am considering a shrimp fly tied a foot or two up from a grub.

I have before but don't anymore much, if there tail biting the larger grubs real bad i might put one on. I catch plenty of fish without one.

I enjoy catching fish one at a time, doubles don't excite me that much, I'm not a commercial fisherman. More gear to lose too.
See ya on the water..

My standard rig fishing off of PC is two shrimp flies on dropper loops 1 and 2 feet up and a leadhead/swimbait on the bottom.

Ab-so-lutely. There's times where rockfish don't like the bigger baits but go for the shrimp fly. And once a rockfish is on it's a good idea to wait a little. Hitchhiker lings tend to be large.

Yes but not as much as sented plastics ... I only used to throw the harder plastic tails. GULP grubs really impressed me .... give them a try
