Sept. 13th  went upriver(coos), launched at Myrtle trees. Same old story different location...The only take downs i got when was my weight hit the ever fluctuating bottom.

Think i need a little break from the silver horde...

Sept. 14th  Caught fish!!  It's upgrade season, upgraded on a nice 21.5 inch black.

VNR'd a ok ling. Released a bunch of smaller blacks, Lost something big, broke off! wish i would have remembered to charge my video camera. cam shut off right when the bigger black got to the surface. After that it had enough life to turn on a few times for about 10 seconds at a time...

I use weather underground, noaa, magic seaweed and iwindsurf. Sat. and Sun. look pretty good. It's up to you if you want to camp in the rain, which it looks like it's gonna do. I'll go whenever.

SAT...S WIND 5 TO 10 KT. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. MIXED SWELL SW 3 TO 4 FT AND S 3 FT.

SUN...SW WIND 5 KT...VEERING TO NW. WIND WAVES 2 FT OR LESS. MIXED SWELL W 3 FT AND S 3 FT.

he was a real trooper too! I don't know if it was me being uncoordinated today or what, but i  had a struggle getting this one netted. Camera was off and i didn't take the time to turn it on,set it to video, hit start. should have took the time to do it, he was hooked pretty good. One of these days i'll actually get a Salmon catch on video!

Way to go on the salmon, Roy - you put your time in.

You know , even though it sucks not catching a Salmon every trip, or every other trip, or every other other trip, there are so many worse things that can happen in life, and it's so beautiful out there and you see such cool natural and unnatural stuff that it's hard to be too upset...

Amen, Bro.   :)
See you at Gimme Shelter

He was/is pretty tasty!

Sept 17th   Trolled for a couple hours with Ron(troutbait). was raining all morning in the area i live but when we got to the launch it was actually pretty nice, drizzled on and off but not enough to get you wet.got a late start so only fished 2 hours, no bites unfortunately.

so far during the Sept. fish-a-thon i have fished with:

yaksurf
midlifecrisis
swiftdraw
schwenn124
troutbait

Sept. 18th   Fished Sunset with troutbait. He had quite a few exciting firsts except an actual fish. The fish were in a coma, i managed a tiny ling and a small cabbie, no fish came home. we fished the heck out of the south side os sunset.

It rained pretty hard at times and we came back pretty soaked, wasn't too cold though.

had an exciting whale encounter, it was really close to troutbait, i turned and saw a huge tail slowly sliding into the water, pretty amazing, i can only imagine what ron saw, he clicked some pics as quick as he could, it would be cool if he got one. Then it didn't surface again for a while. If only my yak was spinning the other way, could have got a great over the shoulder whale shot!

Hopefully tomorrow TB can get off the skunk...

See ya on the water..
