Thanx..

i followed the directions on rigging, but no wheres does it say how long the leader it's on should be... heck i even researched salmon university and it doesn't mention length either.. at 3ft on yours, thats longer than mine.,. but i wonder now after reading several articles on their use if i'm not short changing myself at 2 ft.

yours should get plenty of action on the downwards flutter...

I don't think your leader can be too long for trolling, mooching, and jigging.  36" is about the maximum for easy casting using a swivel.

Use a low profile knot like the J Knot and you can make the leader as long as you want. If I'm casting/jigging for salmon the shortest I'd use is about 8-9'. They're not the most line shy fish but when things are going slow and fish get a chance to look the bait over (like jigging) IME longer is better.

well, ok.. i guess i wont fret the leader then... i should have plenty pupule' on 2 feet.

i surgeon looped the  line end so i could just do a loop to loop connection on the barrel swivel.

originally thought of using a wind on leader using the eye crosser to join the lines, but that doesn't give me the flexibility to change quickly like i wanted.

thats one wild azzz knot, Zee. wonder how they came up with the odd name for it..
