Is it just me, or does it look like I was fishing with "Osama Bin Salmon"?  You be the judge ...

Just kidding with you Jeff, you're much better looking ...

Man, I had a great time, and am just now recovering. Wish there was more fishing like that!

Total for me was 20 fish landed over 2.5 days of fishing, and lots of new friends made (and fish lost!)!

As for my biggest fish, it was released (very dark). How much do you think it was? The top one (kept) was 21.5 pounds.

Hey Zee....

Wow....what a pig!  That's gotta be pushing 80 lbs!

Espiga (Jesse) and I are looking pretty hard at going up to QCI this October.  Sounds like that's the last month before the wind really starts to pick up up there.  As of now we are talking about flying up and hooking up with Jeff but still much to work out.  We'll probably stay for at least a week to make sure we have plenty of cracks at thos big flatties and lings.

Thoughts?

Darren

Hey Matt,

Man.....I'm not the best at this, but I'd say it has got to be around 28-30 lbs.

Sounds like you did pretty well in the river...?  We went up it a bit on Monday and had some fun success casting with lighter spoons and actually getting mouth bites!

Hey all -

Thanks for all the fun and support!  Wow! Some really great pictures!  My kids are still talking about all the fish and how they can't wait to go back next year.  Hope to see you all there and at a few other events before then. Here's a pic my guy (Zed) took of the big fish:

Happy fishin'!

Hello All,

What a trip!  I have never experienced fishing anything like that before.  It was great to meet many of you and visit British Columbia.

Here is a picture taken on Friday evening looking back into Moutcha Bay..the Point is the Southerly point of Moutcha Bay.

Here is a picture of my biggest fish caught.  I would be interested to hear any ideas on its' weight.  It was much larger than the 25# one I caught.  What a slimy black and red beast!

I think I've finally caught my breath, and caught up on my sleep. It was a pretty hardcore trip. I didn't waste much of it on sleep. ::)

I lost track of how many fish I caught. >:D In general, it was best for me early, with Saturday being tops. My numbers were lower on Sunday, and by Monday it seemed almost all the fish were dark. The Monday mackerel were fun, though, and tasty on the BBQ. Wish I had a smoker to take up there! The little buggers were a kick on a light trout rod. I probably lost half the macs I landed, because they go in to hyperdrive once they're out of the water.

Toll on the Element; 3-4 dings in the windshield, a flat tire, and a short in the trailer wiring.

Photos-

The view from Diablo overlook, on the upper Skagit, on the way to Seattle-

The Element with it's load-

Charles with a nice bright fish-

Tom drifting from the "point" back towards Moutcha. Malaspina peak in the distance-

Nice post and pics Pisco!

They are fun and tasty eh? I used to fish for them a lot in Cali and most everyone thought I was nuts for eating them. The Moutcha Macs were nice and big too. Next time I go I will put some time in on them and bring home a mixed bag.

Awesome pics Espiga.. that double rainbow is awesome! Now just to get them all turned right side up... my neck hurts! :D

I've got no idea, Jesse, unless you rotate them in your photo editor. I'm wondering how you guys were able to post such large photos- I thought we were limited to 640x480? ???

Z- We used to eat macs on the east coast, though I'm sure they were a different species. They're pretty oily, but I like that.
