Im going to try to make it, if I dont have to work. I need to go with someone who can show me how to do it.

Also, I went to Tahkenitch today and caught my first coho. Over 30 inches, bright red with a hook nose. I let it go. They are jumping everywhere if anyone wants to check it out.

Hope to see ya there. I'll be there 8:30-9:00 AM Monday.

Conditions look like there holding and if it keeps this downward trend it should be decent water conditions, for winter. Much better then dropping from 10ft to 4ft in one day.

Supposed to be 45 degrees also, which will be nicer then normal.

CBY - Have to work Monday, but might be there the following weekend. Welcome CBM. Tahkenitch coho, very cool. Love to try that. Too dark to keep?

I released it because it was bright red. I told my dad about it tonight and he said its ok if they are red, as long as they aren't dark. So maybe it would have been ok to eat.   I caught a second one from the shore, that was a little smaller. It was redish also, but much darker. On oregonfishingforum there are pictures of coho that were caught there last week. They are bright and silver. I think that is because they are females. Im not sure.  I might take my canoe up there tomorrow evening.

Sorry to hijack

Yes, Got there at 8:15, unloaded, parked the truck and grabbed the four swim shads from the truck to add to my gear for the day. Launched at 8:30 and as i was paddling out decided to check the gear...Oh crap!, i forgot to put my Saltwater box in the middle hatch, i now have a bunch of trout gear and four swim shads, only one of which is even close to an ounce...That kinda sucks.....

Oh well no way i was going back now, figure i'd make the best of it.

The conditions weren't really bad but not great either. The wind picked up quick but i did manage a few blacks that all went back to get bigger, one underling and a keeper Ling that was a tasty dinner...

fished for maybe 2 1/2 hours at the most. I had a double hook setup all tied and ready in my salt box and i caught the perfect sized blacks for trying to live bait a ling..Can't believe i forgot that stuff.Oh yea, no grippers or a gaff either..

See ya on the water..

Same day different place (D.B.), about the same results.

The wind made the paddle back in such a b!tch. My arms were shaking and I couldn't hold the camera steady, sorry for the blurry pic. The only other boat out there was the whale watch Zodiac, and we saw a big huge one breach. Great to get out and get some fresh eats in December, and when else can you have the place to yourselves. Thanks TN!

btw- Booking a whale watching trip for next summer for the wife and kids would score WAF points and free you up to go fishing. Carrie the owner is very knowledgeable and a super nice lady. Nice stocking stuffer!

I hear that!....Pretty sad.  :-\

LB& TN, looks like you caught the exact same fish as i did. Good job, was well worth it i'm sure. Felt good to rock in the swell, get spooked by the hoards of sea lions that were cruising and feel the salt air in my face...Ahh, feels like home.
See ya on the water..

That looks soooooo inviting.  It wasn't too many years ago that our season was open this time of year - I miss those nice winter days on the salt.
Nice video - I say you did well to remember the photo/video gear even though you forgot some of the fishing stuff.   :)

Deniro, we might call you...   ;D
See you at Gimme Shelter
