Just passing through,,, again

It's time for my annual "Dang! You should have been here last week!" trip back to the Great Pacific Northwest. 

 I'm in town (Portland) Jan 4 to 8 and I have to work at least one of those days. I still have a yak and a drysuit there and I've got permissions for at least a day trip (that's 24 hours not 8 )
Anybody got a little time to play in the water or am I going to be reduced to attending ODFW's open house? Fishing good enuf to warrant me buying one of the day licenses that those folk in Salem are so VERY proud of?

Fishing is ALWAYS good enuf, but is there any catching?

Are you going to have the day of the 8th to fish or is that when you leave?  I'm thinking of some C&R sturgeon on the Willy at the very least.  The first Thursday of the month is the 6th so we should have the monthly meet-up while you're in town as well.  I'm good for any day after 2pm, that Friday after 10am-ish or that Saturday.

gotta hope the weather breaks for some fishing.  the willamette has been pretty nasty for a few weeks. last time i was out there (a couple weeks ago) I was using 16oz lead to hold bottom.  The Columbia was cleaner and I was picking up fish. Better yet I only needed 12oz of lead.

Looks like I'll be there a tad longer (till the 10th) so Saturday might be the lick! I'd love to get out and harass  some dino's

Wali.....  I and WR are going to make it down for the Thursday Meet and greet .... .So we can share "dont ask me how i know" stories.. wish i could stay and fish with ya.. but i start a new job on saturday.
