Looking for a river drifter?  I've got a screaming deal for you.
Dennis at the Seaside Surf Shop is looking make room in the shop and is offering a Brand New Ocean Kayak Drifter, with paddle for only $600.  These things normally retail for $750.
Check out the round bottom and short chine on this sweet ride.  If I didn't have a garage full of yaks already I'd be all over this.  This boat screams river drifter.  It even has an anchor guide moded in.

Such a cool yak shape. Definitely an overlooked model.

I've used a Drifter for about 4 years now. The Drifter is very stable, which works well for a big fly fisherman like me (6'3" and usually over 240). The stability really helps when you're getting on and off the boat, as well as paddling and fishing. As with all boats, there are trade-offs and compromises. The Drifter isn't as fast as most other boats, and the ride can get wet when the water is rough. To me, the extra stability is worth it.

I haven't used mine on rivers, but it would work well.

How long is the drifter?  Any big water capabilities?  I am looking for a SOT, I currently have a SINK that I run lakes with, but would like a SOT for bigger water/rivers.  I live in Spokane, so I am not really in the area, but it looks like a good deal.  Any chance he would ship it?

The Drifter is like a Caper big brother. It's a popular dive platform because of its stability. I checked them out and decided on the Caper. The Drifter is about 12.5 ft long, but the leg room is actually about an inch shorter than the Caper. One certainly can't beat the price of $600 with a paddle! Our local kayak shop, Central Coast Watersports is going out of business. The last time I checked, they had a Malibu II XL for sale for $500 with a paddle.
