Howdy. After what seems to be an endless fishing hiatus due to health issues in the family, I hope to hit the water in the north end possibly this Thursday or
Friday. Probably Steamboat Slough or the Stilly or one of it's sloughs. Anyone
care to join in? Let me know.

I would love to in about a month when I get my Kayak. I have been interested in fishing for sturgeon in that area. Have you had much experience/success fishing these spots?

KillFish. A month out is probably more on the money than now but after such a long layoff, I'm fish horny. Areas up here last year seemed to produce Dinos in March/April. I landed a fair number but some were inadvertently snagged and the others were oversized. The largest was 63". Give me a shout when you get your yak. Where do you live? I'm in Marysville.

That sounds awsome! I've never fished for sturgeon before, but have been doing lots of research about it lately. I currently live in Tukwila, but will be moving to Mill Creek in a couple of months april/may. I frequent Jetty island during the summers and have no problems getting up there. I'm am always fish horny!

Fishnut, are you generally available midweek?  I've tried for sturgeon up there, and would love to hit the water with you in the March/April time frame.  Maybe we should plan something now, get it on our calendars, and make it happen.  I'm looking good for it the second week of March.

Depending on the water depth and location current you might be able to get away without a "system", but just an anchor, 100' of line and a float.

I've fished still water with another kayak clipped to my anchor.  Either or both of us could quick ditch the anchor.

To all that have responded. I'd love to have company on these trips.
Went out yesterday for about 3-4 hrs and not even the crab would bite. A few others fishing but didn't see any action. A tad early still. If anyone's game for going you can PM me or call my cell 360-631-3058.
Depending where you go a trolley system with quick release is best
and like where I was yesterday, just throw an anchor onto the rocks on shore. I used my regular 3 lb anchor and also threw a 20 lb barbell
on the shore. 50-60 lb power pro, 3-6oz pyramid weight, slydo and 80
lb dacron leader(24")with a 5/0-6/0 barbless hook.
COME ON DOWN...LET'S DO IT. Sorry I've been incommunicado for almost a year due to ongoing health issues with my honey.

Were you in fresh or salt water?

I'll check my calendar and contact you to work something out.  I'm not worried about going early.  I'll learn what I need for when the time is right :)  What time are you hitting the water - it may make a difference as to what days I am available.
