Anyone know where to find holographic paint? Did a web search & came up with nada. Looking for something similar to what's on the P-line jig.

If you find any I would love to know.. I use a lot of "pearlized" paint when I airbrush kwikfish etc. It gives them a finish kinda like that, but by no means is it holographic and its more of a solid color sort of thing. The finished paint just has a metallic "shimmer" to it.

That's probably that crazy liquid printing or whateverit is, saw it on how it's made. theprinting is suspended in liquid and the piece is dipped into it and it transfers to the piece. wierd stuff
See ya on the water..

I make my own jigs and would be interested in how they produce that finish.  I agree it's probably some floating stuff you dip the jig in.  It would be fun to be able to do that at home.

UV Blast Jig Coat is something that really helps color stand out.  Flouresent paint with a couple clear coats of that stuff really pop.  It also works well on clean, freshly poured jigs while they are still shiny silver - no paint.  The UV gives them a blue/purple look when hit by light.  I use polyurethane for the final clearcoat finish.

Only unlucky fish and guests in my boat see my custom plugs.  If you are ever up this way during the coming springer season I may be able to let you have a look at both ;D

PolePole - just got done pouring some #6 diamond jigs and will use a plain one for contrast vs one treated with UV.  Not sure how it will turn out in a picture but you can sure see the difference side by side in daylight.  I'll see about getting a couple photos of some fluorescent stuff too.  I made up some luminescent jigs that will glow for hours - that stuff's cool.

Didn't want you to think I'd forgotten about the pictures.  Hopefully tonight -

Alan

What are you using for  luminescence (sp?).  Any particular paint that you like?  I am thinking of making my own stuff as well.  Not that I know what I am doing, or that I can do it better than commercial stuff.  I just always have the urge to make stuff.

Craig - I'm using the "glow paint" for bottom fishing jigs.  If you are interested check out glonation.com.  They have what they call Super Phos Phosphorescent paints that will last up to 12 hours by their tests.  I took leadheads and gave  them a white base coat, then added several coats of glow paint (it's a bit gritty), then sealed with clear exterior polyurethane.  Give them a couple minutes on a flashlight and they will glow almost all night long.

Cool! I think I may order the multi pack.  Maybe due a mural of zombies on my kids' walls and ceiling.   >:D  Although, then I wouldn't get any sleep either.  I did notice one thing that takes away from the Halloween fun factor: "Our paints and powders are not intended for use on the body."
