I just picked up a 2-piece 7' medium action 10-50#, BWC 2201-270, for halibut and sturgeon, but have not used it yet.  I've seen better quality rods, but for the price I think they are a good deal and probably a workhorse.  I went with the 2-piece for my gear storage issues.  After using my salmon rods for years this sucker seems STOUT, and short.

It's what I've always used for sturgeon. I don't have any comparison but it seems to work just fine.

I love mine.  I bought it because it was cheap but love the strength and sensitivity.  It's my goto for sturgeon and halibut.

we use these in hawaii and they work good.. I like my ugly stiks but my friend who cant affored them uses the tiger rod and has had good success pulling up pelagics with them.. he pairs them with the black and gold daiwa spinners.. I have used the combo and it felt good..

I have one and love it for sturgeon. It was surprisingly sensitive.  They sell a ton of them at Fisherman's Marine for sturgeon fishing.  They come on sale there a few times a year.

Gonna have to check out one of these tigers. I have used regular ugly stiks for years and love 'em. Have two on my Yak at most times.

How are the Tigers different from the regular old ugly stiks?
See ya on the water..

I have four, 2 of the 6' and 2 of the 13' and all are spinning, 2 piece rods and very durable.  I've had mine for just under 20 years.  The only problem I've had with them was the ceramic in the guides chipping/cracking out probably due to being dropped on jetty rocks.

Ugly Sticks are tough.  The Tiger series are tougher and stout.

Do let us know how you like it.

I failed to mention I also have an Ugly Stik InterCoastal 8.6 Med Hvy which I picked up as a replacement for the jigging rod I misplaced in Depoe Bay.

I picked one of those Uglystick lites 6'6" in a spinning model rated 50-100 last tuna season.

Caught alot of fish with swimbaits and iron....it's half the diameter of a normal uglystick and very happy with it, I do wish it came with stainless eyes though instead of ceramic but no eye issues thus far.

I'll be picking up another this yr as well.

ThNKS---I checked them out t Sportco, the Tigers are indeed stout--thick and still bendy, ton of glass there for not much $$.
