This is a great opportunity for:
- Those who've never been in a kayak fishing competition or are new to the sport
- Those interested in winning a kayak
- Exploring alternate sites for the Depoe Bay Rockfish Classic

This sounds fun. Booooo, I have to sit through an ACLS class that weekend.  :P

Sorry, thought it was on the flyer.  It's the Georgia Pacific Mill out of Toledo.

You Newport boys fished Olalla know what works best, tent camping there or motels in Toledo? Flyer hasn,t much info.

there is no camping allowed at olalla. it is only open from daylight to dusk. i would probably look towards newport for accommodations. if your wanting to tent camp south beach state park will be your closest option or Beverly beach to the north. you cant throw a rock in newport without hitting a motel, lots of options there.

For camping you have: In Newport; South Beach State Park & Beverly Beach State Park. In Siletz (Actually Logsdon) you have Moonshine County Park.  There's nothing in Toledo.  If you have a trailer or camper there's the option of camping in the WallyWorld parking lot in Newport.  Spring breaks will be over and motel/hotel rates should change back until Memorial Day weekend when they go up for the Summer.  I stayed in the Money Saver Motel in Newport for $38 one night last year when I was in the dog house.

I'll be there if the weather is decent. Is there any info about the tourny on the web?

I'm guessing you might find something similar to this thread on iFish, but nothing more.

I'm not going to make this event as I have to run up to Portland.

To clarify, I've received info that the kayak is the top Youth prize while the Trager BBQ is the top adult prize.
