Wish I could make it,  I don't get back in to town from spring break until Sunday evening.  Water should be creeping into shape by then.  Its about time for things to start happening on the Willy, Man I can't wait! This high water has been killing me..

If you're new to the Springer fishery you shouldn't miss this great opportunity to move up the learning curve. Very generous offer Spot ;D

The forecast is looking good.  Just as important, the turbidity for the Willamette is dropping down to a fishable level!
We'll call it tentatively on for Sunday.  As we get closer, I'll keep y'all updated.  The only things that would cancel this are high winds or the Willamette getting blown out between now and then.

Good to see ya back Madoc!

This sounds like it could be a lot of fun, and I'd get a big kick out of catching a springer from my kayak.  I'm definitely interested.

OK, at this point it looks like this Sunday, March the 27th is the day.  The only thing that will stand in the way is a forecast for high winds or a complete Willamette blowout.

Class Begins Now:

My No-Go indicators are:

A forecast for >10MPH sustained winds
http://www.wrh.noaa.gov/forecast/wxtables/index.php?wfo=pqr

Willamette turbidity > 15 to 17
http://or.water.usgs.gov/will_morrison/monitors/will_morrison_tbdy_14.html

The tide is looking really good for trolling Sunday.  The low is shortly before sunrise and will be coming in until 12:30PM or so.  The falling tide will be gradual so you'll be able to continue trolling as late as you please without having to fight a heavy flow.

I'll post a simple gear overview later.
