Hey, I'd like to have a better understanding as to how people ended up here at NWKA.  I know it's not Google search ... I need to improve the keywords to get a better hit rate (yet another thing to do this winter).  So let's hear it ... how did you end up here?

Allen,

If you haven't already, sign up for Google Analytics.

http://www.google.com/analytics/

There are a few other options out there, but the google version is pretty good.  Basically you sign up with google, they give you a bit of code to add to your site (usually you add it to a template) and they track all sorts of stuff for you.  You can later log in and see all sorts of graphs and tables explaining how many, from where, when, etc..  They even have some advanced features that help you plan goals for more site visits.

Talk to me ( or better yet Bill) about it this weekend at BAM.

Brian

P.S. I like the new ProStaff logo in your signature.  Does Joel "Mooch" know about it yet?

Guess I didn't really answer your question Allen (I got caught up in the technical aspects as usual).

Like a lot of people here I followed you from the NorthWest board on NCKA. Oddly, I found NCKA by following Bill from the NorCal board on kayak4fish.

It looks like I have a volunteer to help with site admin ...  :icon_clown:

We just got the new logo collateral yesterday.  Joel should have it too, but I betcha he hasn't figured out how to resize it and start using it.   :whip2:

Sure Allen, I'll help where I can.  I've done a little of that with Bill already, mostly with the Angler of The Year stuff. Speaking of which, we should talk to Bill about the possibility of hosting an AOTY for NWKA (either here or there) even if it's just for bragging rights at first.  It should be pretty straight forward, all we'd have to do is to change the species list and points and replace NCKA with NWKA.

Done.  That was easy enough.  Thanks for the pointer.

I thought I was such a "pioneer" fishing for salmon and crabbing from an old OK that I used to use in Bellingham while attending WWU. I wanted to buy my own yak so I typed in, fishing yaks in washington or something to that extent on yahoo. The next thing I know is all these kayak angling sites pop up. I found out in a hurry that I was not quite the pioneer I thought I was.

Someone from the norcal kayak anglers forum suggested that I look up Allen at this site.

I'm pretty sure my discovery was a google search deal.  I was looking for something more mobile than my float tube to fish from and I think I was searching kayak fishing and found this site after doing more specific searches for the NW.

I've done so much research on kayaks in the last 8 months, I have no clue where I picked up this site.  I do know that I must have picked it up while looking for forums that had SoT Kayaking info on them.  I actually had this site bookmarked, and I believe I looked over it when I first joined, and determined that it didn't have enough activity to warrant frequent investigation.  I spent most of my research browsing the KFS forums and Texas Kayak Fishing forums.  For the last 2 months I've known what Kayak I wanted (Manta Ray 14), so I slowed down in the research area.  That's when I started looking at this forum a bit more, and ended up buying Ww's X-Factor.  Much more suited for me anyway, I think the Manta Ray would have ended up being a wet ride for me.

I may have picked up the site from your other postings on other sites.  I believe you post over on KFS from time to time.  Those forums bore me now.  Though I do need to order a seat from them later today.

Like Phynix, it is hard to remember after all the initial research, but I believe I found the site through OKs web site and Allens' personal profile on their Team page.
