O.K. When are you guys going to come out my way and put on a "heavy surf launch" clinic? My house is open and I've been known to put on a good spread. There's also one of the nicest state parks in Washington right on the beach with showers. Pacific Beach is a tourist town on the Washington Coast and I would love to meet you guys.

I figure if you guys are crazy enough to hunt Salmon Sharks busting through the surf to go fishing and crabbing would be small potatoes.  ;D

I love fishing for Silvers in our rivers and creeks, but the ocean keeps calling me.

Seriously, you guys are welcome anytime, but summer would be the most fun. :)

Regards, Richard (wetwhopper)

Crabs and what else? It's about 2 miles to 20 fathoms (120'). Might be surf perch (in the surf), and 'buts way outside? ???

I've long been interested in Ruby Beach, north of Kalaloch. More structure and some possible protection from Destruction Isl. and Abbey Isl.

We have salmon, lings, perch, halibut, and some Quinault friends say they have even picked up tuna up our way a couple miles out. If you plan it right there's also razor clam digging.

I dont claim to have caught all these but I have caught salmon, halibut, dungenous, lots of razor clams and a ling (whose head is probably still in my friends glove box :o) in these waters.

A fellow Coastie friend of mine out of Westport patrolled up here and said he saw plenty of small skiffs that cross the bar out of grays harbor and up our way working fish. My local native friends from the rez commercial fish thes waters also.

But hey...I'm not try'n to "twist your arm", just a friendly invite. ;D

From what I saw of it, your town was a rather neat, tiny, little town.  Little being the key word.  There's only like 4 streets!   :o

I was thinking after we left that it would be a nice place to visit.  Should be pretty quiet in the summer.  Perhaps I'll swing on up next summer sometime, after I figure out how to surf launch.

I may be heading that way soon, but not to the ocean.

I'm going to fish the Humptulip after the 17th.

I have been having fun fishing and kayaking on the rivers recently.  I haven't beached through big surf, on a kayak anyway, but that reality is much more familiar than massive amounts of water moving down a river!

Memories of crazy surf launches with my Dad on the Pacific side of Baja in our inflatable!! :blob7: :blob7:

Anyone ever see the pangalairos (fishermen how use a type of open boat common in Mexico etc.) launch?  It is amazing!  They hit the beach full speed and glide up the sand some 50+ feet.  Anyway, different type of vessel.....
