Been looking for a simple trailer and noticed this one that would work well for people who have little space and money... and WAF. For those of you who don't have much space for one, taking up as little as possible will keep the WAF account higher. ;)

The trailer is foldable and retails for $200 (about $320 w/ shipping to WA) at Northeren Tool & Equipment.
$209 @ Harbor Freight but since they're in Ca shipping should be much cheaper.

My trailer is that style, but as I bought it second hand, I'm not sure where it originally came from. Been reasonably durable for such a cheap thing.

They sell them at Bi-Mart, Harbor Freight, and a ton of other places.  I wouldn't mind a trailer, and might get one way down the road.  However, as half the point for me of having a Kayak is not worrying about boat registration and tags, it's kind of counter productive to get a trailer as you have to worry about....trailer registration and tags.

Having a Pickup and being so close to tons of lake, river, and ocean launch points, I think I'd only end up using it for longer hauls, like next year's planned camping trip to the Eugene area.

Phynix:
You don't have to register a small trailer in OR. I'm not sure what size it stops at, but I was very surprised to that none was required. It was suggested as it makes it identifiable if stolen.

But you have a pickup so your set anyway (until you get the second and third boats) ;D

BTW the trailer shined this weekend! (too bad the fishing did'nt) My trailer worked GREAT for a shuttle.

Actually, once I get a second for the lovely woman, I plan to build a little wooden stand much like the single wooden stand in the last picture of the trailer.  Double that stand, so two slots.  Raise the bed extender up a bit to compensate for the kayaks being on their side, and it shouldn't be an issue.

However, I really have yet to find a great place to store my 1 Kayak at the apartment complex yet, so a second will certainly be a bit away.  I'm currently storing it at my mother's house in town, which is currently for sale.

speaking of trailers, and on the cheap..tonight was in the local freddie's [ fred meyer's] in south hill/puyallup ( off meridian and 176th) and back in their miserably tiny sporting goods section, they had a foldable trailer [ 4X8] just like the one here, or , gosh i think there has been another post along these lines...anyways, it's on sale for $199  and listed regularly for $278.00 or so...i immediately thot of the articles here using that same tralier and how to modify it to haul yaks and gear, and thot i should let you know it's available.
