No talking about ORC ocean conditions! :police: don't even let the thoughts enter your mind! ;D  Keep those thoughts CALM...  The ocean gods may pick up on the over confidant "waves" and send us what we don't want to see.  NO Jinx's......   In fact you should drive down to Sunset and offer the "old man in the sea" a Coors Light (or other south coast microbrew ;D) as a peace offering

I've been watching magicseaweek for the last week or so, and it does nothing but piss me off.  I see excellent conditions on work days, then, when I've got a day off, it says 11'...

i'm surprised i've not seen any reports recently...

You're not alone brother.  ::)  While the logical voice in my head tries to convince me it's probability, I can't help but think that mother nature just hates me sometimes.

I'm on the same boat as you guys, only in a different aspect.  Last summer damn near EVERY good day was on a Sun, Mon, or Tues, and I work those days.
Come a day off, and the swells are ridiculous.

This year I have vowed to get my kayak trailer done and in paint by August for long road trip to the Oregon desert, and even bowed out of the AOTY this year to get this done.
So, with only two, count that.........TWO.......kayak fishing trips this year under my belt,  I am being tugged by the ocean gods to skip work, trailer progress and all other life that gets in the way and just hit the beach.

Must.........

Stay.........

Focused!

Hagg Lake, there are no swells there.  Hit the ocean, bro!  Hit the ocean!

Be a good week to see if your Outback floats in salt water.   ;)

Love to hit the waves, but I have to wait till ORC. After the ORC I'm staying at Beverly Beach and going to launch from the beach if weather permits.  Last year at Sunset the wind and waves picked up on me once I had a limit of blacks and had to retrieve my crab traps in ten footers from the south west. First trap had a limit of crab so I threw all under six inch over and pulled my other trap and kept four of the biggest crab from it and dumped the rest. Turned around and noticed due to rough water and great crabbing I knocked my pole in and I did not leash it. So leason learned ALWAYS leash the poles no matter what the weather is when you start fishing

I think I am going to try to get out a little earlier to catch the tail end of the high tide on Friday. I will see you out there though. Any plans on heading down south toward Simsons or up to Baltimore?
Enjoy the ride!

What time you want to go? I'll go as early as you want friday and i really want to get to Simpson Reef. Not sure about the wind on friday for paddling back from Simpson. The wind doesn't bother me much pedaling soi'llleave it up to you to decide if you want to do it.

I was thinking about getting out there at about 6:30 am on Friday. I am up for a trip down Simpson as long as it looks like it will be worth while. The Northern wind will suck on the way back, I will still like to give it a try if the ocean is not to torn up.
Enjoy the ride!
