I was out there on Sunday at the tide change.  No pics but you can take my word for it, that fish was big . . . bigger than the kayak!

What is Chum?  I don't recognize that name.  Sorry for being dumb.  I noticed PP mentioning Chum in his
report. Thanks for putting up with me.

Chartreuse is always a good choice for chums.  ;)

Not trying to be a smart ass but chartreuse seems to always be the most effective color for most all fish. My lure/fly boxes glow that color! ;D

Hey Carl, the tides there are swift so expect some paddeling to hold position where the fish are.  The seemed to show up right off the point and really no where else.  I think the kayak is the way to go there.  The fish seem to be just a few yards out of casting distance from the beach - perfect for the kayak.

Last weekend there were a couple schools moving around.  They'd disapear for a while and then crash the surface.  I was mooching herring but if I did it again I'd probably go with a big green mepps so I could more easily sight cast to a school.  The fish there were ocean bright and moving fast so I think it's a better plan to be ready with some hardware.

I can't make it this weekend so let me know how you do if you brave the expected winds.  Good luck!
Steve

Steve,

I am going to stick local this weekend,  try the tahuya river area and the johns creek area I think they will be a little more out of the wind.  I do love PNP it is a great area so I might try that next weekend depending on the weather.  Thanks for the tip on the green meps, would you go bright or just green?

thanks
carl
