So is anyone still fishing and posting the fish now or has everyone thrown in the towel? I noticed the little sidebar disappeared lately.

I threw in the towel about April, at least mentally. Still I posted every fish I could have. Got a much better appreciation of how hard it would be to reach the top now. The kayak is parked for the year.

There's still time if you still have time.  There've been some memorable last minute sprints that have changed the outcome in years past.

So, is signing up for 2014 underway or is there going to be some official announcement?

I have resolved to do better next year.

I was wondering the same thing. I plan on being out January 1st. I am shooting for a score of 1750 or higher. That would seem like a respectable and reachable goal.

There is usually a grace period around the first of the year and open sign ups. Feel free to fish starting January 1st.

(From earlier in the thread)

Go ahead and collect entries as you normally would and stay tuned for announcements.

Yes, confirmed.  We usually have a 2 week grace perious at the start of the year, consistent with the 2 week timeline you have to get entries in.

One day left. I need some more points.  AOTY sickness is strong.  I will fish until my fingers bleed tomorrow.

You've got a really good shot at top 5 and decent shot at top 3.  Good luck to you and remember, it aint over till it's over.

It's been a good year of fishing. I wish I wouldn't have been lazy and posted some of my one inch upgrades. I kind of got sucked into a two week long chinook slaying spree and forgot about AOTY.  I wasted a lot of time and almost missed the coho run. I plan to do a little bit of traveling to chase bigger fish in 2014. Good luck to everyone that's looking for that hail Mary today!

I'm kind of bummed.  I was hoping to get at least 10 species this year :(

At least I still made one goal of breaking 1K points (with only 7 fish ).

Well, it's March 9th and I'm only counting 19 entrants so far. There were 40+ the last two years. I have two theories......

1. Everyone is waiting for their tax refunds.

2. Everyone was demoralized when Yaktrap entered a 200 point fish on Jan. 7 and decided not to sign up.

It should be easy to make the top 20 this year (which I failed to do last year). I hope to dust off the kayak and go for the first time this year this coming week and I've rarely been skunked in the kayak.

C'mon guys!
