Hello Everyone,
My name is Adam Brown and I live in Hayden, ID which is 2mi from Coeur d' Alene, Id.  I am looking at getting into Kayak fishing and am looking at purchasing a Malibu X-factor.  I am 5'11 1/2 and weigh 250lbs.  I like to fish for trout and Pike on Lake Coeur d' Alene and Hayden Lake.  I not only fish with a spinning rig but I am a fly fisherman as well.  I am looking at the x-factor because of the stability of being able to stand and fish from it.  Also with the size of lakes we have up here in North Idaho and the rivers we have it would be a great boat I think.  I do not know how to test one of these out.  The local kayak/canoe shop does not have any demo days posted as of yet.  I am wondering what you thoughts on this are?  Also for any fly fisherman out there, I am looking at purchasing an x-wing for the kayak and will this inhibit my fly fishing ability?  I am looking at purchasing an x-factor next spring as I need to save up for the boat, the vehicle rack for my Jeep Wrangler and any other supplies I made need to start in this sport.  Thanks for any input. ;D

Hi Adam,

It's always a good idea to try before you buy if you can.

Does the local kayak shop have rentals?  Sometimes shops will rent you a kayak with the understanding that you can apply the rental fee towards your purchase of a new kayak.

Does the kayak shop just sell Malibu?  If not, the more makes and models you can test the better informed your decision will be.
