I am loving this. I wish I had such a fertile imagination with the writing chops to match.

As it turns out, the guy was a guest at a local resort that just happened t have a kayak.

Bottom line is, he didn't have a clue what he was getting into and from what I hear, the resort is no longer loaning out the yak.

I think most of us here know our limitations.

. It must have been time to recycle that beer back into the ocean, and completing the circle of life for his favorite libation.
If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.

when i read that he actually stepped of a good kayak on a tiny rock that was my first thought.I bet he forgot all about peeing when his lifeline floated away.

Just curious, is it even legal to intentionally make land(rock)fall on those rocks or islands not connected to the mainland?

Oregon Islands National Wildlife Refuge. The refuge includes 1,853 rocks, reefs and islands and two headland areas and spans 320 miles of the Oregon coast. The coastal rocks and islands and the Crook Point Unit are closed to all public access and use. All of the island acreage is designated National Wilderness, with the exception of 1-acre Tillamook Rock and Lighthouse.  Boats must remain at least 500 feet (150 m) away, and aircraft must maintain at least 2,000 ft (600 m) clearance.

that is great researching. but, does this mean he violated the law or was just being stupid enough that USCG had to intervene to prevent natural selection from taking over?
