I spent most of yesterday fighting blackberries and as a reward, I got the hall pass at about 6:30 pm.  I put in at George Rodgers Park at about 7:15pm and worked my way down stream drop shotting and trolling crank baits over the rocks.  Finally, at about 8:30, or so, I decided to try a lucky beer.  It seemed to work.  Within a few minutes, I had this nice 16.5" smallie.

I tried the drop shot for a few more minutes then decided to head across the river and troll past some pilings.  When I got to about mid-stream, I started to notice the stench of a dead, slightly decomposed body.  A little further and I saw a skull shaped thing, which appeared to have hair on it, sticking up out of the water.  In the words of Scooby-Doo, I thought to myself, Ruh-roh!  Why is it fisherman always find the body.

Upon closer investigation, it ended up being a cat with a slightly propeller shaved off pelvis.

If you are: easily offended, grossed out, or are a cat lover that doesn't like people making fun of these magnificent creatures, please read no further.

So, anyways, I was maybe going to go sturgeon fishing today and I was thinking of stopping by the Humane Society to pick up some bait to "match the hatch."  Just kidding! Please don't hate me, I am a cat owner.

Attached is a "Found Cat" flyer with descriptive data.  I know it is in poor taste, so if you are easily offended, please don't look at it.

You are one sick cat!! Love the poster and the depraved mind that put it together. Keep up the good work. You have to be a Monty Python fan.

Hilariously morbid poster. Keep up the good work!

The Jade Man will be proud.

Nice report Craig!  It's been fun watching both your fishing and your reports bloom this year.

Thanks guys.  I hit it again tonight with Jammer.  I caught another 16.5 inch bass.  Of course, it couldn't be just 1/8 of an inch bigger for an upgrade.  It put up a great fight though. Lots of aerobatics involved.  I wish I would have got it on video.  It hit the Rapala like a great white hitting a seal and came flying out of the water.

Oh, and yes I am a Python fan and I do have a morbid sense of humor.

Hey Craig, beautiful Smallie! If you are a Python fan, then you can probably guess why I named my dog Dinsdale! BTW, he has never nailed my head to the floor!

Craig, I think you got it all wrong. It's a well known fact that "kayak fishing" and "cat grooming" are highly correlated (see link below for proof).  This post is an affront to that established trend.

You cant' argue with a multi-colored graph.  I guess my cat comes with next time.
