Yep yep, Revo 11
Unveiled at the ICAST new product showcase tonight.  most of the length taken from the ends that I can tell. The front hatch looks a lil smaller than the OG, but a Revo owner will have to chime in... i'm still a wisher at this point...

Scotty also has a new camera/gps mount that will be cool if you can put extensions on it (i'll look into that tomorrow).  Malibu is here but there's been a lot of questions about why.  No new kayaks to know about.  Upper management has been changing. Who knows? Not even their pro-staffers! We'll find out.

Is it just me, or did they have the rudder steering lever installed backwards?  :icon_scratch:

My revo at 13 feet is kind of space challenged as it is.  The mirage drive takes up a lot of usable space.  I'd hate to lose 2' and still try to haul my crab traps, lines, and floats.

Yes, the rudder lever was installed backwards.

While you're down there, ask them what their intended market is for the Revo 11.
I don't really see the point of it.

I'd actually rather see a 14' or 15' Revo with a larger front hatch to make storing a cart, or long rods easier.

As a revo owner, I don't see the point either. Demonick is right that with the Mirage Drive, it makes working with 2 folding crab pots a bit tougher. I end up with the pots in my lap on top of the drive and had crab in my lap. Next time, I'll face to the stern and put the trap back there(behind the seat) to unload the crab.  Everthing else about the standard Revo has been great. I have not had any of the problems others have compained about and have had the yak out in some pretty tough conditions. I would'nt change anything and the peddaling makes it so easy. 11' would be claustraphobic.

I can't wait to see how it will compare to an OB. I looks fast. Not alot of space to carry a bunch of stuff, but I like it.

The rudder handle isn't backwards it's turned all the way around since the rudder cables probably weren't installed. This looks like the prototype so not even plastic but a fiberglass yak. Just like car shows, they sometimes bring out gear that hasn't even gone into production yet.

As to the length, I dunno either. But like the T11 and the MiniX, short yaks do have a following.

is it me, or was the rudder system not a twist and stow?

There is the outback and the sport already, the Revo 11 seems pretty pointless to me...but what do I know I'm just a lowly customer.

Why don't they make a Revo 15' instead? Somewhere inbetween the addy and revo. Or why not an even longer 17' or 18' cruising/sailing Adventure?

ah, yes.  K.  Had to look at it a few times to imagine the spin.  Not used to the newer systems and the rear projected mount; I'm still using an '07 AI.  I've seen the super enlarged rudder for the TI and AI, and it doesn't twist, but stays vertical when not deployed.

People must like it.  It won the Best Boat award at ICAST according to Hobie's Facebook page.

Hmmm, a Revo the same length as my Caper. I could go for that!

I think Hobie is trying to fill a void that the Sport is making. Some people like shorter yaks but the sport's less than perfect hydrodynamics left something to be desired.

That was the first thing I thought when I saw your post. You're gonna be stoked when you get a new Adventure. I'm sure you'll especially like the rudder staying down all the time.
