Can anyone givem me the scope on area 9- 1&2. Where out of Edmonds can you fish from a Kayak? Any suggestions, tips? I'll have some time on Thursday and plan on going out from Edmonds. The rules  around Edmonds confuse me:)

There is a park at the south end of the water front from which you can launch.  Don't fish the underwater park which is north of the Ferry terminal.  It is also called Brackett's Landing Shoreline Sanctuary.  Don't play chicken with a ferry.  Don't fish around the public pier.

I think your best route for salmon is to troll south to Wells Point (1.5 nm).  Troll the area between your launch point and Wells Pt, or continue south to Boeing creek.

Thanks, exactly the guidance I was looking for. I'm all rigged up and ready to go. I'll drop a crab pot and troll south.

Make sure to check your tides before you head out. That current coupled w/ wind can make it tough out there.

You actually don't need to go far. Back and forth in front if the harbor is a good producer when the fish are in. Good luck!

The wind made it impossible to fish. It felt like I was launching in the surf at the Pacific:). I dropped a crab pot and bagged the fishing - does that make me a whimp? I went home and built a deck rail before going back out for one stinking red rock crab:)

I'll try again tomorrow. When you say back and forth do you mean East to West or North South?

When the WX is bad it's bad. Good job on calling it and finding better things to do.

North/South. The pattern from the ferry down to the end of the dog park and back is good. If the ferry isn't around shooting north a little can be good too.

Made it out on Sunday. It was a beustiful morning but all I caught was a Dungeness and sand dab and a lot of questions. I just discovered the Wa hook up and fishing repor section so I'll chime in there as well.
