What are the keys traits a drift boat needs? Is the TI too wide?

Lots of rocker is helpful (think banana shaped).  You do not want pronounced keel that can get caught by the current and resulting in your boat being spun around.  Basically, anything that is beneficial in helping an open water boat track nice and straight (long length, defined keel, etc...) may be detrimental in moving water where you want lots of maneuverability.

Your Tandem Island is many things, great open water fishing platform, distance cruiser, fun to sail and just a plain awesome watercraft, BUT... a drift boat she is not ;D ;D

Just leave yer peddles at home, you could use that $1000 to help finance yer new one.

I also have a toon, but sadly I dont use more than a few times a year...
I have an 11' 19" diameter Scadden toon.
it has a standing platform and is a blast on moving waters...
I generally use it to hit bank spots, I think it would be tough to play and land a fish while moving down a small river
we should get a flotilla going sometime.
