whidbey fish in yak?

new guy here i bought a malibu sit on top how do you  get salmon in to kayak? whats it like to catch one? thanks  for any input.

SKIMMIN, are you the guy that bought Matt's (aka getbent) yak?

There are a few Whidbey Islanders here so hopefully they'll chime in and help you out on the salmon up there.  The runs are starting to appear and the seasons are opening so it's time to start targetting them.

I've been trying for awhile without much success to get a salmon in my kayak.  Last year was a decent Pink Salmon run year and I had a couple within netting distance only to have them spit the hook at me and swim off    I mostly used buzz bombs for the pinks and silvers.  It's a little tough to troll and reach the depths you need to for most salmon.  We should have a good silver run this year and I hope to put in some more time on the water.

Fishng out of a yak is just allot of fun    I've watched schools of fish swim under my Prowler.  It's enough to make you nuts....

Read up on the crazy regulations and get on out there.  I just bought a second fishing kayak and haven't had the time to even get it out for a test paddle.....
