Starting a new thread.  pdxfisher, jammer and I have offered to send joesnuffy on a Willamette sleigh ride tour on Saturday, Nov. 26th.  A reminder, this is a non-retention fishery right now so no AOTY points are possible.  But catching a big fish is very possible.

I recommend George Rogers park for 1) lack of construction noise  2) ease of anchoring  3) plenty of room  4) few PBs this time of year and 5) less parking lot break-ins.  But I'm certainly open to other spots.

Joe.  Don't worry if you can't get the gear you need out there.  We'll all have plenty of extra gear and bait.

Can anyone else make it?  It'd be great to see a flotilla again.

Somebody just needs to let me know the time and place and I'm there :P

It looks like sinkers and bait are going to be my only issue right now :(

I'll join the flotilla, what time at GR park?  I have a small claw anchor and an 8# lead, will either of those work or is a larger weight needed?

Hey indyflyer, I think you are covered anchor-wise. I use a 3lb claw and have no problems. I think deepcolor may have the smaller claw anchor.

The other thing about GR is that you can fish in the main current or in the eddy. I think almost anything would hold in the eddy.

Hey joesnuffy, do not worry about sinkers or bait. It will be no problem to help you out.

With the amount of rain in the forecast, you guys might want to add some chain to your small claw anchors and consider adding a 2nd buoy to your anchor spools.  I'm betting the Willie is gonna be moving pretty good by Saturday;

Thanks for the heads up Spot. I already have some chain but perhaps a second buoy will be required.  I will be keeping my eye on this site:

One of the metrics is the stream velocity. It was definitely faster last time the week before. If I can not get the anchor to stick in the main current I will sty on the eddy side of the river. However, it would be nice to have the ability to fish wherever I want!

I'll bring the claw anchor, it is attached with by chain to the line, but probably will get a second buoy, I'm using a large boat bumper right now and know some people suggest two of them.

What time is the meet up?

Wow John...I think you've been watching to many Progressive commercials, starring my girlfriend, Flo. Next thing you'll want will be Unicorns and Glitter, neither of which will help you in AOTY points.  >:D

Hey Joesnuffy....In one of your recent replies or posts, maybe even a thread you started, you mentioned needing to figure out Hotel/Motel arrangements. I'm going to PM you in a few minutes with a suggestion of sorts, that could remedy that.....Dave

Good point Spot.  We've seen bouys go under never to be seen again.

I'm not but a few other guys might be taking him out on the Big C at some point.  There should be another thread for that up soon.

The launch is close to the fishing so we can arrive at different times with no problem seeing the group.  I'll probably be fishing around 8 am.  And I use a small claw in the willy with no problem...except that sometimes it holds too well.  Plus 8 oz. should be good, but you might need 10 if the river is really ripping.
