I am finishing up on my anchor setup and went without a anchor trolley. I made up the same system that Rawkfish has on his Revo http://www.northwestkayakanglers.com/index.php?action=post;quote=71092;topic=6845.0
I am using 2 1/4" lines with quick snaps off the bow and stern pickup handles. One of them is on my Port side and the other is on the Stbd side. I am planning on installing a jam cleat on each side, what I have not decided on is placement of the cleats. I was thinking about the inside bulkhead just in front of my seat. Anyone with this system on their Outback where did you place your cleats and are you happy with the placement? Do you have pics of your placement? Any and all advice is welcome as when I get home tomorrow I will be drilling and installing my cleats and don't want to find out I screwed the pooch on my install. If my picture comes out this is where I am thinking of placing the cleats.
Thanks guys

I use my rudder down cleat to hold my line on the starboard side.  No new holes.  The 1/4 inch line fits nicely over the smaller line of the rudder down cable.

Oh, and did you use the ladder truck to take that overhead picture?   ;D

I attached a caribiner to my handle and use that. I have a caribiner/jam cleat that I attach to the large caribiner on the handle. Sometimes I just use a quick release knot. I did not have to do any drilling for my anchor setup.

Craig when your anchoring bow upstream do you ever find the need to use your rudder to keep you straght in the current? If you do how do you lock down your rudder if your using your cleat for your anchor line?

I do use my rudder to control the sway in the current.  I lock it down normally.  The rudder down cable is much thinner so it is lower in 'V' of the cleat.  My 1/4 inch line locks in above it.  I have also pulled the rudder down but not fastened the down cable in the cleat and the rudder worked fine.

Thanks Craig that good information. It will save me drilling a second set of holes.
