When I fished Beaver lake for planted rainbows, EVERYONE, on shore and in boats, except me, was using PowerBait.  The planted bows are accustomed to hatchery feed.  I got skunked.  Most others caught fish.

Well Demo, following in your footsteps, I was the only one throwing flies and I got skunked too. Kevbro ended up with two and Aytch also caught two nice chunky stockers. One guy on a pontoon boat, showed them what to use and he caught his limit two days in a row, within just a couple hours. Said he was taught by his Uncle, Buzz Ramsey. Powerbait seems to be the answer.

Bake 'em in melted butter & garlic.  Yum!

Thanks for the recipe, just to be clear, I just gutted them and cut of the heads (That's how I used to do Cutthroats when I was a guide in Yellowstone nearly 50 years ago), so baking in Garlic and Butter is OK?

His uncle is Buzz Ramsey?  He is a good  teacher for sure.  Met him when Bryce and I went to the Steelhead University seminar two years ago.  Took notes from him and Todd Girtz, then caught my limit on my first trip.

Yeah, that's exactly how I clean them and cook them - easy and tasty.  Add parsley flakes in the cavity and all over the outside too.  Bake at 400 for about 23 min for two good sized fish.

Awesome report and great pics btw!

Thanks, Jeff, I'll let you know how they taste!

Yep, I'll be fishing more with Jason and get him to buy a yak and join the NWKA cult, he's already an addict!

Nice report.  I cook them the same way but leave the heads on.

Yeah Lee, he said his Uncle is Buzz Ramsey. Asked us if we had ever heard of him. ::) Thinking to myself, "Um, yeah...I've bought three of the Berkley rods in the past six weeks, he helped design" The guys name was Jason and Ihop included a couple pictures of him in this thread. One near his Pontoon Boat and the next day, on his PB. Both days with a brace of nice sized Rainbows ;D

Awesome, good luck. It can get intense if the dock is loaded with lead slingers. Fish a simple 3" power worm slowly jigging it up from the bottom. Fish just outside the swimming buoys out of casting range of the banksters.

Give us a report. I may come out in the afternoon.

I like to butterfly the trout so there are no bones at all, put some butter, salt pepper on foil, place the fish on it skin side down, fill the cavity with Stove Top made slightly dry and with a squeeze of lemon, roll up the trout around the stuffing, cover with foil and bake @350 for about 40 mins plus or minus depending on size.

This recipe works at a campfire with a foil packet too :)
