"And then the thread was Reborn"

I've heard that sturgeon like salmon/steelhead roe but most people don't use it because of the cost.  I've got a ton of Steelhead roe that I won't use for anything else.  Should I try it?

I was able to find some frozen herring and was thinking about defrosting some, covering it in Sturgeon feast and refreezing.  Is this a good idea?

Thanks!
I tried roe last weekend after my bait freezer got unplugged for a couple of days. I got nothing. Pickled smelt is my new favorite bait.

Roe is generally only effective when its fresh( not frozen or cured)

Big hint: think like the most current and numerous food source.' Might be research intensive at first but it'll pay off incredibly.

Maybe. Although for a fish that has been known to eat human waste, I'm not convinced they care much about the taste.

Much agreed, though I have also found that on a few occasions, several dams up river from the salt, squid was the hot bait.  Granted there was nothing running at the time "Shad, Salmon, Roe ..." that would be on their expected menu.   I am stumped how they could have a craving for something that, in all logic, they had never tasted before, other than on a hook.
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Blue brined, Green label herring has been the ticket for me this year. Usually my go to is fresh smelt or herring. The dinos will hit on them, but will swarm the brined herring. I am going to try brined smelt today if the salmon fishing is slow.

well sir my thoughts would be when there is nothing running there is little to eat and at that point what better thing to eat than what is offered.

Bacon will work for any carnivore or omnivore.  Just don't fry it 1st.

That might have been my problem.  Next time I am going to go with raw bacon wrapped smelt.
