Horizontal rod holder on Hobie

The concept of a fishing rod dry bag was brought up a year or so ago for those that can't stuff fishing rods inside their yak hulls.  I've got a pretty good idea on how I'd go about it, just haven't done anything about it yet.  Too many other projects I need to tackle. 

I'd like to see the rod dry bag idea.  I've been trying to figure out how to store my rods for a surf launch on my Tarpon 120.

These guys carry Kydex and they are local. 0.125 2'x4' is 38.00, they also have a bunch of colors.

I'd like to see the rod dry bag idea.  I've been trying to figure out how to store my rods for a surf launch on my Tarpon 120.

I can slip a fully rigged, but broken down, 2-pc 9' flyrod and reel, as well as any other 4.5' or so sections of rods inside the hull of my Tarpon 140 through the 8" hatch just in front of my seat. The hatch opening is angled to face forward, and I shove the rods back toward the stern. For a spinning rig, I might have to take the reel off the rod to get the handle end to fit thru the opening, but at least I can safely store them in the hold. Does your Tarpon 120 have the same kind of forward facing hatch?

I've attempted to place my rods in through the 8" hatch but they just don't seem to fit.  Looks like I've gotta find a new plan.
