With winter upon us, I tend to spend more time brainstorming and working on boats and less time on the water. I thought Id share a few photos of my sanctuary and hopefully others will post pictures of their place of refuge.
It looks like my "special lady friend" and I will soon be upgrading to a different home, so Ill be packing it all up for the move.
Kind of tragic. A lot of great times and a lot of planning for great adventures went down here in the man cave.

Nice cave! Mine looks somewhere between that and the city dump.

What the hell is that yellow rocket ship?!?! It reminds me a sculling shell. Very cool and I'm guessing very fast!

How do you fish off of it with out any pole holders?

Wali was right. They do breed like rabbits.
As of July 12th, I am, officially,  retired.

Sweet!   SLF and I are also about to upgrade.  We're hoping to find something with a 3 car man-cave, or what we've come to refer to as the 2 car and yak garage.  I'm not posting pictures of the current storage facility sinces it's jam packed full of stuff.  Right now we're remodeling the interior of the house and getting ready to stage for selling.

Is the Futon in the corner there for those nights when you forget to stop drinking beer and not sure if you'll be able to make it to bed safely?  ;D

Niiiiiiice plaaaace.

We bought a very nice 2 car garage with a detached 4-bedroom house and then I promptly filled it.  ::)
It's just now coming under control and I'm excited to start playing in it. You sir, have inspired me!

Glad that it inspired you Wali, and looking forward to photos of yours.

Im hoping for a larger lair too Lee. We looked at one property with a barn that would have been perfect.
Unfortunately the house had too many issues.   Good luck in your search.

Ok, the ski.
Its plastic from down under. A company named Spirit and the boat is the "PRS" (performance racing ski).
They are calling it the fastest plastic on the planet. I can make it go fast up until Im swimming, again.
Im not quite proficient with it yet. Ive got plans to put in 2 rod holders but first I need to upgrade a few things like handles and the seat. Still working on a few ideas for storing gear without swimming.

18' 8" long X 19" wide.  46#s  and very fun. Most of the ski folks use a wing paddle but Ive always struggled with them so right now Im using my WW paddle.

the futon. well...... with just the aquarium light on and the soft blue X-mas lights that I have strung along the walls, the inner sanctum can be a nice place to get comfortable with the SLF. nuff said

Well, it was great while it lasted.
We have found a groovy house and we are right in the thick of the challenges of escrow.
Its an amazing Eichler home on a hill. Most of the walls are glass. We can see the lake through the house from the back yard. 2 acres of woods for a yard and plenty of room for visiting paddlers. Epic kitchen! and the grand list goes on and on.
So heres the rub.

no garage
