Slow going out there for me.  It was crowded but we squeezed in.  There were keepers to be had but I would guess I only saw one for every 10 boats/yaks.  Squid seemed to be getting the most action but I saw some success on smelt too.  I only had one shaker and missed a lot of one hitters.  It was great to see all the kayak fisherman out there...at least 12 (so one of them should be smoking Dino tonight?).  Maybe the lousy weather report will thin the PB herd tomorrow?  Probably not.

Where's the Dino fish porn? Someone needs to post some for all of us suckers that had to work today.
If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.

It was a pretty interesting day - that's for sure.  I couldn't believe how many boats were on the water.  The pic from GR park was after I got off the water and the boats had thinned out considerably by then.  Squid seemed to be what they were biting on.  Good luck to everyone who is heading out tomorrow!  Keep your head on a swivel!

We got some bites and landed a few down by the Gilbert River ramp on the Multnomah Channel. But, only Dave got to bring one home. Congrats again Dave!

I was hoping to get out to GR tomorrow but, while at a restaurant with my family for my sister's birthday, my oldest boy got sick.  It wasn't pretty.  We eat there a lot and, because our kids are messy, I leave big tips.  It paid off tonight.  Poor little guy.  Anyways, both him and my daughter are now running fevers so the likelihood of me getting out again is pretty low.   :'(  There is always the estuary when it is warmer I guess.

Thanks to everyone who posted a report. Looks like it was a tough day today. I think that I will hit GR tomorrow. If it is packed when I get there I may just head home and torture the kids or head somewhere else.

Congrats on the keepers guys.  I got a lot of bites using bacon flowers and shrimp today, but I think the fish were just snacking.  I plan on heading to GR at some point tomorrow.  I am not sure when.

It seemed like it was hit or miss at George Rogers today. A couple of boats got early limits and kept bringing them to the boat, one after another. One boat limited early using smelt and the other was using sand shrimp.

My dad and I got on the water around 8:00, it was his first time kayak fishing and his first time fishing in Oregon. We had a few nibbles throughout the day and I caught one 35" fish around 10:00. Toward the end of the day, maybe 4:30 or so I hooked another fish that felt really nice. I dropped off anchor and started to let the fish take me for a ride but as I was floating away a caught a glimpse of my dad looking on. I had no choice but to pedal back up to him and hand him the rod. It was great to be able to return gesture that he had done hundreds of times for me growing up. I think the photos tell the rest of the story. AOTY points be damned, it was well worth it  ;D

We used lots of different baits but the keeper was caught on some old cured sand shrimp. We'll be out there tomorrow plus my cousin in a SINK. Good luck to everyone and hope to see you guys on the water!

I'm sure you bagged a crap-ton of fishy karma for that one.  Well played, sir!
