I'm proud to say that Big Hammer is coming back to support us at ORC again this year.  They have proven a big hit with many of you.

Do me a favor and check out their swimbait offerings at http://www.swimbait.com/hammer.htm .  Specifically check out their size and color patterns and let me know your preferences here on this thread.  While I can't promise that we can get the specific colors/sizes you guys like, we can try to get something close or similar.  The 5.5 and 6.5 inch varieties are easier for us to get in bulk.

I personally like the bigger 6.5 baits when targeting lingcod and the smaller 5.5 baits for more general use.  Brown baits like Halloween, Sardine, Toast, Herring, etc..  Or more "fishy" baits like Pacific Chovy, Surf Smelt, Mackerel, etc.  Or some of the red baits like FishChick, Red Calico Hunter,  Seniorita, Fongfish, etc.

What say you?

-Allen

Thanks Allen that's pretty cool!

While you have that guy on the line, tell him we would like to see the Motor Oil Red in a 5.5 or 6.5. That's a time tested pattern for lings and cabs.

UPDATE:

I sent an email request to Pete at Big Hammer, he said the factory had a "mis-shipment" and ending up making an order of Motor Oil in 6.5 inch. If anybody is looking for them they can be found in the "BLOWOUT SALE" section of their website.

Oh yeah!

I don't see a single dealer listed on their site for Oregon.  Probably should make Hoggs in Hillsboro aware of this, huh?  ;)

Definitely.  They are looking for dealers in the NW.  They can be contacted at [email protected] for more info.  Make sure they know the message came via NWKA!!!

6.5" glowbug!!!!!
Some sledge hammers would be fun to try too. Wish they had a deeper belly though.

Awesome swim baits that keep on catching fish. I think I caught 8 underlings on one bait last summer.

Mike (co-owner of Hoggs) stocks Big Hammer swimbaits in a bunch of colors.  Most are in the Tuna sizes but he's been ordering in the typical Ling and Cab sizes as well.  He's very open to serving our needs.  When I asked him about his selection of Big Hammers last summer he said he doesn't order in enough volume to get their prefered pricing yet.  We might be able to help him along by stopping by the shop and buying up what he has.

In a recent conversation with Mike about a springer seminar in March, he made the following request:
Quote from: Hoggs Hardcore Tackle
Get me a list of what gear you guys use fishing from a kayak. We will try to get that in stock before the seminar.

The above flavors all will work.  Don't forget Pacific Chovy and Pearl/glow.  The 4 inch size murders the schooling rockfish. Not a huge personal fan of the real big swimbaits.  Don't get me wrong they are a great product and catch fish, I just prefer, "doctored" large twin tail scampi when it comes to lings..

3 & 4 inch size, Bubblegum Ice, Plum, Sea Wolf, and Midnight Phantom.  Good  contrasting colors from the norm.  Great potential, twitching for salmon in tidewater/rivers.

You guys have pretty much listed everything.  I added a poll.  Only included 5.5 and 6.5 inch colors.  Vote for up to 4.
