Calling the electrically inclined

instead of wasting electricity by dropping voltage in a resistor, put a couple of more LEDs in series with your VisiCarbon. You could run two bow lights or a bow & stern light or whatever. 4V is a common voltage drop across high output LEDs. Amazon is a good place to shop for onesy and twosey quantities of LEDs. You can epoxy them into your hull. At work, we illuminate all kinds of parts by embedding LEDs in plastic.

Would it be difficult to change the Visipole light to have a 12 volt draw? Say an Led cluster for 12v or a single bulb of 12v. Maybe YakAttack has already addressed this?

That was my first thought.   I would not think Yak Attack invested in the production of a proprietary bulb, so perhaps it is a connection / mount with other options out there voltage wise.    I would love to see some detailed images of their bulb.  Assuming that it is a replaceable LED bulb.

The light that yakattack uses for their products is made by tek-tite.   You could probably get replacement parts from there.

How about a wireless 360^o that's always above your head, casts enuf indirect light to tie a knot but does not wreck your night vision, and won't ever catch a line?
