I have an NRS Pilot knife.  I love it.  It has perfect balance, great grip, and a cord-cutting hook.

It has a problem though:  The scabbard doesn't want to stay on my PFD.

The scabbard has an awesome quick release function, but the belt clip isn't really made for being inverted on a PFD, it's to be carried with the handle up.

Does anyone have a feasable solution for this problem?

I too just got the same knife and its great but also have the same problem getting it on my pfd. When I get back home I think I'll find a good place for it and have Yakchick sew on a tab to hold it. I mainly use my Hobie Hi-back pfd and have not yet looked at my Kokatat pfd to see if it has a better attachment place.

Small zip ties. You can throw one around the tip of the scabbard through the shoulder strap and another(or two) around the belt clip. That's more or less how I have my rescue knife secured.

If you are ever down in Portland, bring it by the store and I can show you what I am talking about.

Thanks Dave.  I intended to stop by there this weekend, but we ran outta time.  I had to drive Ravdakot and crew to the airport around 0400 Sunday morning.

Never seen one in person, but was looking over a photo of the sheaths back / clip side.   Does the clip just not have enough tension to bite into what ever it is clipped onto?
Could you heat up the sheath in some boiling water, then remove and quickly  push the clip inward then run it under cold water so it will cool and stay in that new position.  If boiling water is not hot enough, maybe a heat gun ?
I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

If the zip tie doesn't work, I'll try that.

Found a place on my Hobie PFD right on the left shoulder adjustment where the
knife/scabbard faces up and all I have to do is reach naturally with my rt arm, hit
the release and vouala, it comes out with and easy motion. Still can adjust the shoulder tension with no problem.
