Headed out to the salt today with Langcod, yaksurf and Lingbanger. The conditions were pretty good most of the day, 6-7 foot swells with a little wind chop but not a lot. We fished from about 800 until about 1230. The fishing was slow at times but picked up later in the morning. I managed four cabbies (all released), 3 lings, 2 under-lings, and 5 black rockfish. Langcod picked up one keeper ling and a couple blacks as well. Lingbanger and yaksurf each got a couple of lings to go home with LB taking the largest fish.

It was great to get back out on the salt.  It was fun to get Langcod out in the salt for his first time and get him some fish too. Here are some pics,

Great job Noah!!! Way to hit the mark. It is cool that you all were able to thread the needle on the ocean conditions. You are a fish magnet - hooking up your dad and cousin with sturgeon and now taming the ocean.

Wow, that really looks fantastic.  I can't wait to get out in the ocean on my kayak.  You wouldn't launch from the beach in that size swell would you?  Just learning....

You certainly could if you know the right spots.   :)

Mad thanks to Noah. I had a blast and was stupid excited to kill my first salty fish. I can't wait to get back out there again. If there is anything, anyone can think of to get Noah some positive wife points let me know so I make sure he can go fishing again.

Nice report guys. It looks like everyone took home some dinner last night. Nice job to LingBanger too for biggest fish. Did you all pay him $5 and give him Ninkasi's? :) Nice job to Langcod too for popping his cherry in the salt. :)

Dem some good looking fishes fellows........
Does Oregon have a minimum size for lings like Washington does ?I hate being ignorant........ ???
Life is short---live it tall.

Be kinder than necessary--- everyone is fighting some kind of battle.

Sailors may be struck down at any time, in calm or in storm, but the sea does not do it for hate or spite.
She has no wrath to vent. Nor does she have a hand in kindness to extend.
She is merely there, immense, powerful, and indifferent
