My daughter was scheduled to swim tomorrow and Sunday but she has decided to scratch for tomorrow. This opens up a fishing opportunity for me since my wife was already on planning on taking my son to the movies tomorrow. (I love it when a plan comes together).

Since I was not planning on fishing up until my wife called me 2 minutes ago I have not thought about what I might do. A couple of ideas that come to mind are: sturgeon (bass, walleye) fishing in the upper or lower Willamette, Multnomah Channel or Columbia or trout fishing Hagg lake. If anyone is going out tomorrow and wants some company let me know. If you are hitting a "secret" location please feel free to PM me.

Maybe I will see some of you all out on the water tomorrow!

Springers would be my suggestion.... DAMHIK ;)

I really appreciate the heads up, but I am not set up equipment-wise to pursue them right now. I need to pick up some kwikfish, flashers, herring and a net. Actually I am going to make my own flashers. There was a nice article about making them on ifish. Thus, I will just stick with the "lesser" species for now.

When Pelagic says it's time to chase springers, IT'S TIME TO CHASE SPRINGERS!!

I'd skip making "Springer gear purchases" until you attend Spot's clinic.  A guy can put a lot of Springers in the freezer with very little gear.

I put some herring in brine this afternoon, now it's just the matter of getting myself out of bed to go do it.  I think tomorrow is going to be an easy day for me , get things dialed in and avoid getting run over.
If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.

I'd be very interested in attending Spot's clinic where can I find some info about it?

It was really slow out there today, I hit the water around 10ish and trolled from 1/2 mile upstream of the 1-5 Bridge down to the RR bridge 3 times.  I didn't see a single fish boated in 4 hours of being on the water.  Did get some pretty crazy looks from the PB crowd, I think at $4 per gallon gas, a lot of people are waiting for the bite to get hot before they hit the water

Nice job getting out there! The reports I've read seems to be about .1 fish per rod. Not the best odds but more than zero :) Where did you launch from? I'm going to try and get out there within the next couple of days.

I launched on the Vancouver side of the river,  just to the east of Who Song and Larrys mexican restaurant, on Columbia Way.  There is a parking lot with a concrete path (75 yards) that goes right down to the river and onto a gravel beach.  Pretty premo spot for launching,  a cart was helpful but not necessary.  This puts you right at the upstream side of where the PB were starting there down river troll.  If you look at an aerial map you can see an old concrete boat launch.
If it wasn't for flashbacks, I'd have no memories at all.
