It's got to be a lot of work. I've thought about it but I just don't have the time and as cool as it would be, I also want the flexibility to use any gear I want.

People see my videos but it takes time to edit 4 to 6 hours of fishing into less than five minutes. Id say two hours for me but i suck at it  I also need a partner in crime to video from another perspective. Well I do make 15 to 20 bucks a month when I'm posting using Adsense. Lol. Waiting for the day I survive a shark attack or something crazy to cash in. Lol.

I've got a few more ideas to offset my kayak fishing expenses. Hope to run it by a few folks on the water this year.

Build relationships.  Go to the trade shows.  Chat the sales reps up.  Chat the other pros up.  Chat the staff up at your local shops.  Network!!! Get to know them.  Geting to know them doesn't mean annoying them.  Be mindful of their time.  Build the relationships so that one day when they get the memo that they need another pro staff, perhaps your name pops into their mind.  I have some relationships that I've built up over 5 years that finally "paid off".  Be prepared for most not to pay off.

this is the truth.  if you aren't willing to do the legwork for manufacturers it won't happen.

doesn't matter how good of a fisherman you are the manufacturers won't come knocking without some serious sales pitches.

Spot really sums it up well. One thing that I think needs to be added is you need to be a solid kayak fisherman first. And we're not just talking you know how to cast a baitcaster. You should be able to out-fish or easily hang with other pro anglers at any one spot. If you become a "pro" without kayak fishing skills, everything that would come out of your mouth would be a pure sales pitch and ring hollow. Nothing could be worse than a salesman on the water when all we want to do is fish.

This thread reminds me I need to watch the movie "RAD" again.

Nothing wrong with trailing edge technology.
