I would much rather be up a creek without a paddle than down one.

Anyone interested in heading out on Saturday? I have to take the Revo out to chance getting (someone else's) blood on it somehow before my Spring Break ends...

I got a report a few days ago from one of my repair guys seeing someone in a Hobie trying to fish under I-5 recently - current chased him back to shore....

I had to call someone, and figured it may help motivate you to stay out on the river a bit longer.

Did you see any fish caught in the area, Eric? How did the anchor work?

Thanks Nate...

My feet were really numb, and I was getting kind of worried.  I keep forgetting to put my extra layer of socks on, and having your feet in that position in the blowing wind does nothing for their warmth. So by the time you called I was happily walking in the front door.

The current was a bit of a battle, but I was able to hold my own or make slow progress when I needed to.

My 15 lb mushroom did fine, but I was tempted to just leave the damn thing down there!  Soooo heavy.

I saw lots of fish hanging out behind that weird dam to the east of Gleason, and then up river where there is a big shelf going out to the next channel marker.

Once the wind became a concern I anchored just up stream of the launch and let my quickfish tempt any fish coming around the concrete barrier.

No dice!

Wingdam :) It sounds like you were in the right area. My theory on the Springers Gods is that you need to spend about 4 days of suffering in the worst weather possible before you're rewarded with a fish. You've only got 3 more to go!

You should also talk with INSAYN about one of his anchors for the big C. 7-8 lbs is about perfect and they're so pretty!

Are you calling me a wing-dam?

I figure I have to spend some time suffering to make up for all the fish I caught at PC last weekend.

Despite not catching, it was fun.  All the activity at the airport was pretty cool.  They launched a bunch of f-16s and f-15s while I was there, and that was damn cool.  I have never been that close to them taking off before, and I actually had to cover my ears.

When there weren't planes to watch, my new sonar is pretty damn entertaining on its own.

I wonder if I can get an Angry Birds app for it.

Yeah, I see those guys launch when it's not overcast from my office....so like twice a year. And yes, you're a wingman  ;D

Angry Birds App.....LOL! ;D

They need to make an app for fishfinders that shows a huge school of fish every few minutes.  Just to keep our hopes up when it's slow. :D

Mine already has that one waterman!

What I think would be really funny is for someone to make an app that I could load on to someones sonar covertly via the SD slot.  It would detect the periodic 6- 8 foot depth change of ocean swells.  After about an hour or so a giant shark profile would swim up to the bottom of the boat.  It would work really well for DSI models.
