What paddles do you guys use?

I currently have a aqua bound stingray hybrid, carbon handle etc....
It's seemed to
Work really good, I've done several paddles of 10+ miles.... Sightseeing...

Debating on a more aggressive paddle... What are your guys thoughts?

I snagged an older Werner Camano off Craigslist.  So far I'm happy with it, but I'm also a newbie, so I'm still figuring everything out.  Will probably upgrade to a "better" (or at least more expensive) paddle with my next yak - unless that next yak is a Hobie.

I swear by my Werner Corryvrecken. It's super aggressive and I love it!! If you let your form slack your shoulders will pay dearly, but when you are in "the zone" it will MOVE you.

No mean to hijack.    Buuutt.
What makes one paddle more aggressive than the next? How can you tell without actual use?

Im no expert so someone correct me if I'm wrong,  a more agressive paddle should have a deeper scoop and more surface in contact with the water ....the more water possible to displace the more movement available

Aggressive can indeed mean more surface area on a paddle.  Certain paddle lines have "oversized" versions.

But aggressive is also used to describe a higher angle paddle stroke.  The Corryvrecken is a higher angle paddle that is also oversized.  Does that make it SUPER-aggressive?

The Corryvrecken is nearly a 100sq.cm. larger than my paddle. And it looks to be mostly in width. I can see the "in the zone" advantage.
So size matters if you use it right. Got it.

It's not just about using it right.  Oversized paddles aren't for everyone.  In general, the majority of paddlers will be just fine with regular size, low angle paddles.  Some people naturally paddle a high angle, and regular size high angle paddles are just fine for the majority of those people.

Think of oversized paddles like pedaling a bike in higher gears.  It can be a lot more work, and unless you are physically conditioned to do so on a regular basis, it can just tire you out faster.

A corryvrecken is not for your standard cruise.  If you like to move fast and have the frame to back it up, it's awesome.  Before I tried the paddle I thought spending that much on any paddle was really dumb.  But now, even with a hobie, I wouldn't hesitate to  spend that money again if I needed to replace it.

The Corryvreken definitely not the paddle for everyone. Like Polepole said, high angle, and oversized blades.
