I can't relate on the salmon experience, but I completely agree on the ling bite!

What the F dude?!?!?  You live steps from some of the best salmon fishing on the Willamette.....   >:D

I voted for king salmon as my favorite fish to "catch" because you work so hard to get them that when you do, it feels more rewarding. However, I will take a nice relaxing flat day out on the saltwater chasing the various bottom fish over salmon fishing any day. I like never knowing what you may pull up from the ocean depths.

+1. I haven't had a more rewarding fish than my first springer and my first fall Chinook I caught (and released :( ). Plus they taste so damn good!

After thinking about it a little I would have to agree with craig 100%

Salmon are my favorite to catch but Lings/bottomfish are my favorite to fish for...

Wow, you guys sound like my stump jumper buddies from high school. Deep fried Mississippi catfish and hush puppies is a true delicacy. Think I'll hit The Lost Cajun in Frisco, Colorado for some tonight. They make great Beignets, too. Even serve Dixie beer.

Not a Mississippi stump jumper, but grew up in the south fishin for bass, catfish, and crappie.  Fresh catfish is hard to beat.   Makes me wanna kick my dog and slap my mama just thinking about it
No matter how many times the PB's tell me I'm nuts....I still smile every time I out fish them

Steve and Ling Banger, let's check the tides and weather and plan a trip to DB sometime in the next few weeks! Gotta learn how to catch them critters. Anyone else want to go?

I would like to see a sister poll regarding what fish species you would like to fish for from a kayak.
I think the ideal fish would not be one that swims down from, but away from you.

The idea of a "Nantucket Sleighride" kayak style sounds like it would be the ultimate.
I am thinking large billfish species ???  Those that have done it have my envy

I used to think that Bigfoot might exist. Then I saw the reality shows where they are looking for them.  Now I am certain they don't

Count me in if you don't mind a new guy tagging along. Got a big Jones to learn DB.

I can't decide. This is a tough question for me. Might have to be split with the Ling and Chinook. But memories of big freshwater Striper fights and cats sure make me want to go back.

I'm ready when you guys are. Now that Cabezon is open DB is more appealing. I can't seem to find any at PC.

I'm ready to take on the salt.  Ling Banger would you be up to showing us the ropes? Would need to gear up differently. What type of rod and tackle will I need?
